ID Released For Stratford Woman Struck, Killed By Car

Police have released the identity of a 61-year-old woman killed while crossing a Stamford street.

Nancy Flores, of Stratford, was killed at 9:16 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16, while crossing at the intersection of Washington Boulevard in Stamford, said Stamford Police Sgt. Jeffrey Booth.

According to investigators with the department's Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad, the incident took place when a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Courtney Sabia, 23, of Stamford, was traveling eastbound on Tresser Boulevard. 

At the intersection of Tresser Blvd. and Washington Blvd. the Jetta struck Flores who was crossing Washington Blvd. from north to south.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Sabia stayed on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, Booth said.

The investigation is ongoing.

The department is asking anyone that may have witnessed the collision or has any information to call 203-977-4712.

The collision is being investigated by Booth, Sgt. Ryan McAllister and Officer Lindsey Yanicky.
